This is a true story that happened on Wednesday October 28, 2009. It started out, I was to meet a Buyer from Canada, I have taken out before that wanted to go back and look at Villas in Jonathans Landing, in Jupiter. It's a beautiful community with mature tree lined streets, and lots of Cul De Sacs. We started out, and the Buyer received a call, that his friend wanted to look at the Villas with us. I thought, oh no, he's going to tell him about everything he likes or doesn't like. I was almost to the turn light to go to the community to pick him up and we spun around to meet his friend at the Yacht Club where he lives. The friend, who happens to be an x pro hockey player decides it will be best to meet at the gate to the community instead. We are spinning like a top again and off we go to Jonathan's. The Buyer says, "my friend will be in a Ford Bronco and I will know him when I see him." We waited on a side street from the guard gate and all of a sudden the Buyer says, "I think that's him. No wait a minute it's not him but his vehicle." Another car follows and he yells, "that's him." I started to pull up the car and the Buyer says, "no, that's not him, but it sure looked like him." We laughed and thought there can't be that many Ford's but no lie at least another 3-4 more came by before it really was him. What a hoot!
I get in front of him as his friend decides he wants to follow. Oh boy, the pressure of making the wrong turn or who knows? Anyway, we make it to the first, second and third villa great. Now it's time to go to an area in Jonathans, I haven't been too before. Naturally I pass it and we are heading toward the marina and million dollar homes. I have to turn around and apologize to his friend and we get to the next place. Off to the last listing and there are not one, not two, but three of the same streets with the same name. I drive to one and go to the second one and voila, as luck would have it I find it. It's time to leave and his friend asks, "how do you get out of here? I say, "just go left and straight ahead and you'll be back to the gate. Are you sure you don't want to follow me?" "No, that's okay," they both chime in. We say our goodbyes and off they go.
I am heading out and who do you think I run into? You guessed it the guys. Don't worry, "just follow me, I say" and off to a Cul De Sac we go. Didn't I mention before they have lots of Cul De sacs there. We all spin around, I apologize and thank goodness I see a lawn man by his truck. I roll the window down and ask him how to get back to the south gate? I repeat it again, and he's moving his head in a yes fashion. I finish the question and out comes, "yes, we do sprinklers." I thought I was going to pass out from the laughter. I wish they could have heard that conversation but their thinking oh good we're getting out of here. I see only one street we can go on and finally we all get to the south gate. Did we score a Villa? I did learn more about the neighborhood. His friend asks, "how long have you lived here?" I am almost embarrassed to tell him, but admit since 1974. He says, "you're a native, huh?" I admit, I felt like a foreigner today, and no, we didn't score a Villa this time.
If you are looking to buy or sell, remember to use a Realtor. Believe me, we never give up and always do our very best to know the areas. Some are a bit more challenging than others, but I do promise a few great laughs. The names of the Buyer and his friend were not divulged to protect their privacy. In case you are wondering I am taking the Buyer out again in 2 weeks. They had a fun time on my expense I am sure. Lol
