R U Training Your Dogs Or R They Training U?

I can honestly say I haven't been the best sit, stay, and settle down commander with my dogs this time around. I had 2 Poms before Bobo and Izzy. Their names were Baby and Erin. They got everything they wanted or didn't want. I had a Veterinarian, tell me once., who's training who, Lois? It was so true. Baby, my little angel, devil dog, used to bark at the door to a roommates bedroom, and wouldn't stop, until the roommate would come out. I would say, shut up, no, nada, not, I mean it, stop it Baby, and she wouldn't. The noise I made to get her to try and stop, would actually be, what woke the roommate. I felt so bad about that darn dog not listening. I lost more roommates that way. Hehe.

The other Pom, Erin was a true Angel. She was pure in heart and knew exactly how to get to yours. When I first got her she layed her head on my chest and looked up in my eyes and that was it. She was mine from that moment on. She didn't have good legs and was very clumsy. I used to have to even wipe her butt, like a little baby, for the first 3 to5 months. Too much information, huh? Anyway, she couldn't stand for long. The people that gave her to me were thinking of putting her down. I wasn't going to let that happen. This dog could melt your heart with a smile.

I called a friend of mine, named Mark, who did massage and Tai Chi. He said, "Lois, you need to be working with her. Do some resistance exercises on her legs and make them strong. Massage her legs every day and make sure you get her to try and walk." Wow, it was like a miracle! Erin, was walking and able to use the bathroom without falling in it almost within 2 weeks. She started running before she walked. Her legs were really going, but she was very clumsy with them at times. She would always be on the arm of my couch when you would walk in the door. She'd pat her paws at you a mile a minute and start talking. "Uh uh, uh uh."

Time to get those two their shots. I brought Baby and Erin to the Vet and she asked, "how are things going?" I said great! Baby only eats when she feels like it. Erin, won't let me get near her paws to clip them and they both run the house now. I have to scoot over so they can have their spots on the couch, bed etc. She looked at me and said, "It looks like your dogs have trained you very well." What did that mean? She said, "R U training your dogs or R they training u?"

Either way, we all truly know who's boss now. "Bobo, Izzy where are you guys? Come on I have to go to work. Hey you two, where are you at? It's not funny, I don't have time for hide and seek right now. Okay, just for a minute."

"Bff, bff.........."
