There's a special dog I know that showed a lot of love to his Owners and the cats they had for pets. He was a Shelty, named Sox, who loved cats with everything he had in him. How do I know this? Well, he would lay down and the cats would lay on top of him, crawl all over him and around him. He would just let them pretty much do whatever they wanted to him. He was a cataholic. Hee....Hee......
Sox had a serious case of arthritis which made it difficult for him to get around. When he would get up to walk it was more of a wobble. Sox wobbled but he didn't fall down. I still don't know exactly how he would stay up, when he got up, and walked and wobbled, but he did. He never whimpered or whined about his condition, especially when he would see a car, or cars go by. He became a different dog. I really believe that is what kept him able to deal with his arthritis so long. He had a drive in him when the cars were whizzing by in from of him that would bring him alive. He would use his front legs and move up and down with excitement while barking at those cars.
Sox had a daily routine he loved. He would eat and play with the cats, bark at them, and then would fall off to sleep with them. After his nap, the owners would take him out to the corner of the driveway, to let him bark and go crazy as the cars drove by.
He had so much life in him. This dog had more gas in him than what we put in our cars. Hee....Hee.....Even before he couldn't walk anymore they could still take him to that corner and he would come alive for that one last run and bark.
Friday July 24, was Sox's last day. We celebrate his life! He will always be remembered as the dog that loved cats and cars and of course let's not forget his Owners. Love you, Sox.............
