Qi, The Energy Of Our Lives!

Hi, I left the Don't Be Prideful Blog up all weekend as I got some comments on how it got some people thinking, including myself while I was writing it. We don't want to think of ourselves as being prideful but we all have something we do that isn't exactly the best way of living our lives. Well, enough of that we have a new subject to deal with.

This involves Qi. What is that you ask? Well, Qi (pronounced Chi) is energy. We all have Qi in our lives.
I am going to expand on this subject. Qi Gong (pronounced "chee gong" and alternatively spelled as "qigong," "qi gong," or "chi kung") is sometimes called “the new yoga” – but the practice dates back thousands of years to ancient China. The word “qi” (or “chi”) means “life force” or "vital energy of the body," and “gong” means accomplishment or skill that is cultivated through steady practice. Qi Gong is specifically designed to cultivate the body's vital energy, using it to heal and strengthen every system throughout the body. Thus, qi gong means “cultivating energy,” and it involves working with energy to strengthen and cleanse the body.

QiGong's gentle, rhythmic exercises mirror the movements of nature, especially the fluidity of water. Combined with simple breathing techniques, Qi Gong is uniquely suited to relieving stress, boosting the immune system, and increasing the body’s innate healing abilities.

By using these exercises we can improve our stresses which sometimes on our jobs can be the people we are around. We have some people we work with that are very easy to get along with and those that aren't so easy to get along with. We can put out all our energies just trying to get them to like us or we avoid them all together. You can walk in a room and know there in there before you get inside it. You say, now Lois, that just sounds downright ridiculous. Well, think about it? You can feel a persons energy if it's positive or negative. You know what I mean? You are getting ready for a weekly session to discuss things at a meeting or session at your job. All that person does is bring everyone in the room down with their negative, harsh responses. Thus brings about stress among most of the people in the room. You bring someone in that has a calm and soothing way and everyone in the room starts to relax.

Even, Bobo knows when you excercise it helps his energy level. He is patiently waiting for the next stretch to do. Let's take Bobo's example, and try and do whatever we can to lower our stresses. As you already know, stress=blood pressure. The deep breathing is what usually helps us reduce our stress. In QiGong you take both your hands, one on top of the other, and place just below your belly button. You beathe in with the nose and out through your mouth. Make sure the abdomen is rising up and down. We want to make sure we are breathing correctly, like Bobo. Breathe in the day and energize yourself. Bring in some Qi and enjoy the energy of our lives.
This will help you deal much better with people on your jobs or your family at home whether they are stressful to you or not. Give it a try and let me know how you feel?
